“KB Visa”, also spelled “Khali Bali Visa”, is a non-official term used by certain agencies in India and Pakistan to refer to a Dubai tourist/visit visa. The key catch: it purports to exempt passengers from the AEDÂ 3,000 absconding penalty if they overstay beyond their authorized duration—though this claim is not officially recognized by UAE authorities traveltripplus.com+6Tripadvisor+6Tripadvisor+6.
According to travel agencies:
Offered as 30-day and 60-day visit visas, often bundled with insurance
Fees touted around ?9,500 (30 days) and ?15,000 (60 days), with insurance included traveltripplus.com
Process:
Application via agent
Processing time: ~5–7 working days
Documents needed: passport, photo, PAN card, etc. traveltripplus.com
From traveler reports on forums:
“KB Visa means (Khali Bali) Visa, which means agent/client will not have to pay absconding charges if a [passenger] stays more than its stay period…” Reddit+7Tripadvisor+7Tripadvisor+7
Important reality check:
The UAE immigration system does not officially issue any such KB visa
Absconding charges (AEDÂ 3,000) apply based on employer sponsorship status—not tourist visa category
Absconding penalties are governed by labor law, not by whether a visa is called "KB" Tripadvisor+4Tripadvisor+4Reddit+4
No official “KB Visa” category exists under UAE visa law—it’s a marketing term used by agents.
Overstaying a tourist visa still carries penalties (overstay fines, potential bans), regardless of whether it's labeled “KB.”
The term may imply that overstaying won’t trigger employer-based penalties—but that’s specific to employment visas, not tourist visas.
If someone offers a “KB Visa”, ensure:
You receive a standard tourist/visit visa approval letter or eVisa through accredited channels (airline/agent).
Verify the paperwork—confirm official approval from GDRFA or UAE visa authorities.
Do not overstay under any circumstances—even if “KB” claims seem safe.
If you're using an agent, ask for written proof of acceptance and immigration confirmation.
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Visa Category | Standard Tourist/Visit Visa (30 or 60 days) |
| “KB Visa” Label | Marketing term (“Khali Bali”) |
| Absconding Fee Claim | Not officially recognized by UAE immigration |
| Risks | Overstay fines, entry bans, immigration scrutiny |
| Documentation | Passport, photo, PAN card, visa fee, confirmation receipt |
The “KB Visa” is best treated as a sales pitch—not a legal distinction. Always insist on legitimate visa documentation, verify with official UAE immigration channels, and plan your trip conservatively to avoid overstays.
